I was born in Algiers, Algeria, in a family ministering to Muslims across North Africa. I have served in vocational ministry in the local church as a teacher and administrator, in Christian camping and retreat ministry, in Christian education, and in international missions. I’ve also worked in the marketplace as a general contractor in residential and commercial building. I received my Masters in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1994.
I spent the last ten years serving in an international missions leadership role at a USA home office in southern California, where I was blessed with the opportunity to travel the world and interact with God’s people serving him in many countries, and in many difficult circumstances. My heart is in sharing the gospel and contributing to helping others do the same.
My wife Valerie and I met while backpacking in the Sierras in California when we were both 16 years old. God brought us together in marriage in 1985, and we’ve been blessed with four children, all of whom are walking with the Lord and desire to serve him: Jordan (and Elizabeth), Travis (and Maia), Ellie, and Malia. Grandchildren have started to arrive. We’ve moved to the Phoenix area in the pursuit of God’s next steps for us. He has made his desires for us in this move to Phoenix abundantly clear through his people, prayer and circumstances.
Our family loves the outdoors, hiking, and books—the reading and collecting of which there is no end. We’re excited to be a part of Camelback Bible Church and look forward to becoming part of the family and serving together.
