It was Monday, June 15 when I received word that our Camelback Christian School (CCS) Director had resigned taking a new position at another school in the Valley. This announcement left me feeling challenged as I realized that finding a qualified candidate in a very short amount of time would be a daunting task. In my prayer to the Lord the next morning, I acknowledged my need of help and asked the Lord to do something amazing.
I am delighted to say that the Lord answered my prayer in a way that was amazing. It was apparent that the Lord had already been at work even before my prayer. He was working in the heart of Alene Bell, stirring in her heart that a change was on the horizon. When she first saw our InTouch ad announcing our search for a new preschool director, she sensed the Lord was calling her to this position.
Alene left a message for me (as I was out of town). When I received it I began to marvel at the Lord. Here was a person who was uniquely suited for the position. Her background, passions, skill set, and especially her love for the Lord fit the current needs of the school perfectly. Our subsequent conversations together were a delight as we both knew God was orchestrating these events. Within weeks of my prayer, God had provided above all expectation.
Alene comes to us with much experience, expertise, and enthusiasm. She actually served as the CCS Director from 1995-2001. (It is interesting to note she hired several of the staff still serving at the school.) She served as the Administrative Coordinator at Phoenix Christian School from 2001-2009, and her more recent employment was as the Director of a KinderCare Learning Center (Knowledge Universe) in Phoenix. Alene said she is overwhelmed by what the Lord is doing, and looks forward to getting to know the school families in the days ahead.
Additionally, Alene has agreed to take on the role as Young Children’s Director of Discipleship. In this role Alene will oversee our Sunday Morning ministries to our children in Kindergarten and below (among other duties). Her involvement in both roles will enable a greater coordination and integration of ministries.
And so we have witnessed the goodness of our Lord. We have seen again that He reigns and rules over all, and if we look to Him we will see Him work wonderfully according to His glorious purpose. We thank the Lord for His provision of Alene and look forward to seeing how He will use her to bless many children and families and point them to the majesties of Jesus Christ.
