Loss and the Holidays

Posted October 26, 2016

For most people, Thanksgiving and Christmas usually bring to mind thoughts of family, friends, presents, and fellowship around the table. But for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one, holidays can be painful.

GriefShare offers a Surviving the Holidays seminar to give people a safe to learn how to deal with all the demands and emotions the holidays can bring. This seminar is open to anyone. People who are hurting from the death of a loved one experience deep emotional pain and are anxious about how they will get through the holidays in what, for them, may be the new normal.

The video below will help you determine if this seminar is right for you or someone you know who is anxious about how to navigate these special memory-filled days.

Camelback Bible Church is hosting Surviving the Holidays on Thursday, November 10, 6:45 pm – 8:45 pm in Rooms 207 & 208. Contact Mardette Hemann at mhemann@cox.net to sign up. This is a free event. Feel free to let others know who may need help facing the holidays without their loved one. You might even consider attending with them to provide encouragement, a familiar face, and someone to lean on.
