As of this date, we are offering four classes to children in our after school program in guitar, keyboard, art, and violin. We also have three sisters who are taking guitar lessons privately with Julianne Forte through Camelback School for the Arts. We have a total of 26 children that are on our campus weekly during the school year.
Our Adult Art History Class is completing an eight-week session during which six members of our CBC body enjoyed fellowship and learning. Lessons covered the works of great artists including Rubens, Rembrandt, and Velazquez, to name a few.
I am now in communication with some local assisted-living homes to introduce their residents to Camelback Bible Church and to Camelback School for the Arts. We will be presenting the opportunity, not only to our body, but to the community, of how they can be involved in the arts on our campus.
For the future, with God’s help, we will again hold two Summer Arts Camps in June and July of 2015, where we expect close to fifty children from the community and from our body to participate.
So, why do we do what we do through Camelback School for the Arts? I’ve highlighted a few reasons below:
- To introduce our community to Jesus
- To introduce them to a community of loving believers
- To encourage children and adults to use their talents in His service
- To give our body the opportunity to serve those from our community
Join me in praying for every person who enters our campus that they would sense the joy embodied by our faculty and staff, and that we would be “all things to all people,” so that the knowledge and joy of Christ would be made new in every life.
