“Poco a Poco”

Posted May 1, 2014

“Poco a Poco”, a musical term meaning little by little, is exactly how God is blessing us with a growing children’s music ministry. Only through His blessing are we able to impact the lives of children within our body as well as outside our church community. You will find, on most Sunday evenings, upwards of fifty of our children engaged in singing and ringing.

During the week, you will find over twenty children involved in learning to play guitar, keyboard, and violin, while others are focused on creating their very own Rembrandt or Renoir. Through Camelback School for the Arts, God has allowed us to reach out and show His love through our teaching and interaction to many who do not attend Camelback Bible Church.

Coming this summer, kids from all walks of life will be streaming through our portals involved in the Summer Arts Camp programs at Camelback. These little ones are God’s children and what better way to capture their imagination for our Creator than through the arts.

We would love for you to share in the joy of what God has done by inviting you to a musical celebration at our Annual Fundraising Concert and Silent Auction on May 17 at 3:00 pm in the Sanctuary. The concert will include our Sanctuary Choir, Sanctuary Bells, our children’s vocal and handbell groups, soloists, and a few surprises.

Along with the concert, you’re invited to take part in our silent auction. Plan to arrive early to view some of the wonderful items that will be available for bid. One hot item that is sure to grab attention are The Phoenix Chamber Music Society concert tickets. Other items on the auction table include private music lessons, paintings, and even artistic creations from some of our pastors and staff waiting for the highest bidder. Best of all, proceeds benefit the Children’s Music Ministry and Camelback School for the Arts. This is an evening you don’t want to miss!

Another event worthy of not being missed is the Camelback Arts Festival on Sunday, May 18, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The day will feature regional and local artists selling their original creations (including those from our own church family!), live musical performances, gourmet food vendors, and children’s art activities.

Why not make it an arts weekend starting with our Fundraising Concert on Saturday, May 17 followed by our Arts Festival on Sunday, May 18. Invite your grandma and grandpa, neighbors, fellow artists, and art lovers, and join us the third weekend in May.

See you on Saturday, May 17!
