A Testimony of God’s Work

Tell us a little about yourself.

I really love the Lord, my family and my friends dearly. I believe the best ability to have, is availability. I am passionate about this life and the next!

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Religious Education; a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Doctor of Divinity. It has been my privilege to use my education under the direction and power of the Holy Spirit to preach, teach, counsel and enthusiastically share God’s love with young and old alike.

Why did you start going to Camelback?

We were acquainted with the ministry of the Preschool Program at CBC. A number of our friends had their children enrolled there. We also noticed upon attending the services, that there was an excellence in the preaching of the word of God. We also appreciated the fact that members of CBC were reaching out to students of the local schools in caring and very practical ways.

How has God been working in your life?

God constantly reminds me to keep my eyes on Him, regardless of the circumstances of life. He also brings to my attention that he brought me through cancer a few years back and that every day is a profound gift from Him that I should use wisely. So with great joy, I press on!

How are you involved at Camelback?

My wife Edna and I serve the Lord at CBC in the ministry of Hospitality and Care. We reach out by phone and often visit those who have visited the church. We touch base with members and friends who we know are going through difficult challenges. We seek to bring joy and encouragement to the lives of others whenever the Lord gives us that opportunity.

We also look for members who have become somewhat invisible, even though they continue to attend CBC. Maybe they were greatly involved at some time in the past ministry in the church but have slowly faded into the woodwork. It is our desire to encourage them and all the folks who attend our Fellowship to use the gifts that God has given them to impact a hurting world.

To God Be All The Glory!

Anything else you want to share?

I’d like to share this poem:

The Object Of His Grace
by Jim Lake

If I get a little weary
Or I’m up against the wall
I can still be glad and cheery
For on Jesus I can call

I remember He’s “The Answer”
To the problems that I face
He is greater than the cancer
He runs with me in the race

He can help me when I’m hurting
He can calm my anxious soul
When it’s all so disconcerting
He can guide me to the goal

The Lord Himself is always ready
To bestow His gift of love
He is gentle, kind and steady
Comforter and Guide and Dove

He’s my God and Great Physician
Dearest Friend I’ll ever know
With His power and position
He can make the blessings flow

He will lift me in my spirit
I’m the Object Of His Grace
So the future, I don’t fear it
God Himself is on the case!!!

“Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.”
