Does the turmoil in our times, the uprisings, and the spiritual decay of many have anything to do with the Book of Daniel? Daniel was a man who knew what God said about the end times. He focused on what God said, not the events of his own time. He had an impact on the people that God placed in his life.
How do you live as a Daniel in the crucial days in which you find yourself? How can you dare to be different? How do you get to know God Most High? The Book of Daniel has the answers.
Books may be purchased in the church office.
Nancy Whalen has been a member of Camelback since God first called her to himself 27 years ago. God has given her a deep love for his Word. Nancy has been part of the Precept Bible Study for many years, studying with generations of women from ?Camelback and around the valley. Nine years ago God called her to a leadership role in the Precept Study, and has equipped her through dependence upon the Holy Spirit to lead women in inductive Bible study. Nancy has also been involved in numerous other ministries at Camelback.
Marilyn Hayes has attended Camelback with her family since childhood. She has worked in children’s ministries, teaching LOGOS, VBC, and Sunday School. After attending the Precepts Bible Study with Nancy Whalen for several years she began to teach with Nancy in 2015. Marilyn became a believer while at college and has a passion for the Word of God. She studied at Torchbearers Bible Schools in England and Sweden before finishing her degree programs at university. “The Lord has always drawn me to him through his Word, first as a student and now as a teacher. I enjoy studying and sharing The Truth with others from age five to 105! It’s so amazing and miraculous to have God’s Word at hand – whether in book or iPhone – to read and study, to learn and live by for life in Christ Jesus. Truly a divine gift from heaven to earth.”
What is a Precept Bible Study? Precept Ministries International was co-founded by Kay Arthur and her husband Jack in 1970. Precept Bible Study uses the Inductive Method of studying God’s Word, digging deep into the richness of God’s truth. According to the Precept Ministries International website, “Precept Ministries International was raised up by God for the sole purpose of establishing people in God’s Word to produce reverence for Him. It serves as an arm of the church without respect to denomination. God has enabled Precept to reach across denominational lines without compromising the truths of His inerrant Word. We believe every word of the Bible was inspired and given to man as all that is necessary for him to become mature and thoroughly equipped for every good work of life.”
The Method. Individual study is the first step. Group discussion based on observations and insights from personal study are encouraged. It is in the discussion, for many students, that the lesson begins to “gel.” The discussion confirms, clarifies, and corrects as each student seeks to discover truth for themselves. Discussion of the Bible’s truths helps to seal them in our minds and sharing application encourages individuals to live out what they are learning. In this approach, spending time to know what the Bible says, understanding what it means, and living it out in our daily life, results in a life that honors God.
