I’m a big ol’ Nebraska farm boy who loves to play rugby, hike, read, and find a new adventure. I attended Wheaton College in Illinois, where I played football, threw the shot put and discus, and majored in Christian Education.
After Wheaton, I moved to Phoenix in 2004 to teach at a Christian school. I met my wife, Sarah, on a blind date in the spring of 2005, and we were married in June of 2006. Through various acts of divine intervention, we adopted our first son, Michael, from Uganda in 2007. Our fun, high-maintenance daughter, Molly, was born in 2008, and our sweet boy, Brady, was born in 2011.
At Church, I wear many hats. I oversee the youth ministry, help lead the church in community outreach, and usually serve as “announcement guy”. After 8 long years, I graduated in the Spring of 2013 from Phoenix Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in Biblical Communication.
My heart is to see the people of God be equipped to demonstrate and articulate the love and grace of Jesus, right where God has planted them.
My favorite book in the Bible is the letter to the Hebrews. Here you get the whole Bible compressed into one book. I’m fascinated with Biblical Theology and the mission of God as it relates to discipleship ministry in the local church.
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.”
